CALL FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST

The Centre for Bioinformatics CBUC, from the Faculty of Biological Sciences at the P. Universidad Católica de Chile, invites students from the areas of biology, chemistry, physics and computer sciences, to present/display expressions of interest to join us in all the different research areas that are currently promoted in our laboratory. Positions are available for under and post graduate thesis, and also for under or post graduate training. The effective areas of research are:

Systems Biology
- Graph theory and complex systems.
- Design of topological databases.
- Non-equilibrium thermodynamics.
- Role of entropy in biological systems.

High performance programming for supercomputer clusters
- MPI/MPIch.
- Load balancing.
- Shared memory.
- Grid computing.
- Web services and semantic web technologies
